Description:
Welcome to the listing for Hitchin’ Bitches London – hopefully you love rope as much as we do!!!

Hitchin’ Bitches is a female positive space for learning and practicing rope. We try to run a mixture of technical classes which teach more formal/structured ties, and also exercises to help you develop the way you tie, along with giving you free time to just practice. This is also a peer to peer learning event, so if you see someone tying something that you’d like to learn then (after they’re done with their scene!) ask them politely whether they’d be happy to show you how.

We generally socialise from 2pm-2:30pm, but do try to arrive by 2:30pm if possible for introductions, ice breakers and to hear the plan for the day.

Don’t worry if you’re completely new to rope, absolute beginners are always welcome and I’m sure we’ll have you hooked on rope by the end of the afternoon. More experienced riggers are equally encouraged, whether you want space to practice, to work on more advanced ties, or hopefully also the chance to share your knowledge with others. If there’s something you’d be interested in teaching the group then message Purrrrvert (https://fetlife.com/users/636765).

As this is a rope event, please only engage in rope activities, no other type of play. We’re happy to see a little tickling, pinching, and other toying with tied bunnies (provided of course you have their consent), but this isn’t the place for other play. Also Hitchin Bitches is not a pick up joint, we want all attendees to feel comfortable, hence the attendance rules below.

WHO CAN ATTEND: This is an event for female* riggers / rope tops / dominants. Bottoms / bunnies can be of any gender. However, male bottoms / bunnies must arrange their top / rigger before the event. Sorry, no unaccompanied male bunnies, we want to promote the female learning space, and we can't do that if it becomes a pick up joint. Females don’t need to come with a partner, and we’re pretty good at pairing people up, so ladies please don’t worry if you’re coming on your own.
(* female being all women who live full time as women and FTM, genderqueer and intersexed persons who feel that they still have links to the women’s community)

ROPE: Don’t worry if you don’t have any rope yet, there is rope for you to borrow. Please bundle it neatly and make sure you return it in person. Our lovely jute comes from www.jakara-rope.co.uk (I’ve included the link as so many beginners have asked me after the class where to get some for themselves).

SAFETY: As with any kind of bondage, safety is paramount. All attendees participate at their own risk. Please make sure you know where your safety shears/cutting tools for rope are. There are also several pairs of shears on the stage area. Emotional safety is important too. No means no, and predatory behaviour is not acceptable. Please report any concerns to the organisers during the event (there’s not much we can do afterwards).

REFRESHMENTS: As well as tea and coffee (£1) we now have cupcakes (£1) and cans of drink (£1) available from the bar. We love people who bring change :-)

PHOTOGRAPHY: Photography is permitted, but only with the explicit consent from all of those in the image, including those in the background. You know the drill!

TRAVEL: Elephant & Castle is the nearest tube stop, and is a short bus ride from the venue on the 343 bus. There are plenty of buses stopping close by, such as 343 (from London Bridge & Elephant and Castle), 12 (from Oxford Circus), 171 (from Holborn), and 345 (from South Kensington). Why not plan your journey at www.tfl.gov.uk , the venue post code is SE5 7SY.
